What is Scented Vinyl? Scented Vinyl is my show. Right now it's every Monday night at Mars Café from 7-10 pm. The format is similar to a live radio show that features artist interviews, performances and vinyl collections. The interview and performance part of the show are recorded and put out as mp3’s; they can be downloaded in the audio section of this website.
Tell me more... The show features music of all types from all genres, some of which can only be found on vinyl. That’s the great thing about vinyl, I can play a record that is over one hundred years old, not just musically but physically; and follow it with a 45 put out last year by a local musician. There really is no limit to the music I listen to, or the music I play on the show. The reason I do the show is because I love music, plain and simple. I have a deep respect for music of all kinds, and a knowledge and understanding of music that I want to share with everyone else. Radio has developed into not just my passion, but as my creative outlet for accomplishing that desire to share what I love.

What is the goal of Scented Vinyl? The goal of the show is to be a local music showcase for all of Iowa. The purpose is to not just get the artists music out to the public, but to also find out what the artist is all about, what drives them musically, and what about Iowa is important to the development of their sound. The vinyl part of the show is a unique way to listen to music, and in some cases the only way to listen to a given artist or album. I specifically choose records from my collection for each show, I research the music and present it to the audience as something I care about and feel they should too. Every artist that comes on does the same thing, they bring records that influence them and records that they love.
