actually spoke to my guest at all. Sean Bright is a singer/songwriter who is comfortable on the go; he travels whenever possible, playing where he can and seems share a home with Chicago and his car. Iowa seems to have a steady supply of solid songwriters, and from what I can tell, Sean is among them.
Once in a while, not very often, I’m left with the task of picking all the music for the show. It’s always fun when my guest has a vinyl collection to pick trough, but that was not the case this week. I had a number of new albums to show off, including one I’ve been looking forward to for a long time, William Elliott Whitmore’s latest “Animals In The Dark”, I played two tracks off that.
Other then that I tried to choose albums that Sean might have brought himself, I was close with the Boss and Iron &Wine…but had no Dave Matthews, who is his favorite. I’ve looked into it, and surprisingly DMB doesn’t have a whole lot to offer on vinyl, and the one’s he does have are expensive!
Here is what we played… Animal Collective – Merriwether Post Pavilion Iron &Wine/Calexico – In the Reins Kings of Leon – Only By The Night William Elliott Whitmore – Animals In the Dark Bruce Springsteen – Greetings From Asbury Park NJ Iron & Wine – Sheppard’s Dog Smashing Pumpkins – Adore Wolf Parade – Mt.
